Finishing Frenzy

Yep! She's done! My first Bermuda Bag cover...and not too soon. With all the designers making cherry handbags, I had to get on the bandwagon. It's Mary Engelbreit fabric I purchased at Wal-Mart for $2.20. I love it! I even added an applique cherry to the side. I'm getting a big charge out of this because it's the first sewing project I've done since 1987. Next up? Bag cover number 2...a different Engelbreit pattern. I almost got sucked into buying the pattern off ebay for an ungodly $7.99, but I decided it couldn't be that hard, so I made my own. Oh, should I mention that I didn't include the cost of the sewing machine repair that was $85.00? Yeah, the buttonholer wasn't working so I figured the investment would be worth it. I looked at the new Joann's flyer and I could have bought a new machine for $100.00. Live and learn....

And lest you presume there's no knitting going on...yep. I brought ribbon x-back out of hiding and am now on the left front. Something about this project just doesn't want to be completed. I'm using Lion Brand Incredible in "City Lights", and I do love the color. I just don't think ribbon knitting is for me. I was perusing the ribbon x-back KAL and there's been a bunch of posts about how large the thing is...believe me, I do not want to frog this baby.

I am 95% done with the "O" ring halter, but the endless ribbing-32 inches to be precise-is bogging me down mentally. What's a person to do? Cast on for another project...that's what! I'll bore you with the details of it later. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place at this point....I just got 2 of my library books today and I'm dying to get started! Wish I was one of the ones who can read and knit at the same time! What books? The Kills by Linda Fairstein, and Sullivan's Law by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg--2 of my favorite authoresses!--Hey! Is that even a word????
